Studio team

Emily has a small team working alongside her, helping behind the scenes to give her the time to imagine and create her next beautiful collection.

Here we all are at Jubilee Pool...end of the day G&T! (from right: Alison Malaiperuman, Emily Nixon, Emma Byron, Chloe Wild)

Alison Malaiperuman

Ali is the voice on the end of the phone and email – ensuring everything is happening when and where it should be. She grew up in Cornwall, moving away to study Chemistry in London before going on to establish her own successful floristry business. The lure of ‘home’ however proved too strong and in 2012 Ali sold her business and moved back to Cornwall with her husband. She joined the Emily Nixon team in 2016.

When she isn’t on the case in the studio, she can be found trail running along the coast path, swimming with her two young children or hanging out at Gwithian beach. And we can’t not mention she is also an Olympian – rowing for GB in 2000!

Emma Byron

Emma is our talented jeweller who hand finishes and sets gemstones at the studio. Moving from Liverpool to Cornwall in 1999, Emma trained alongside master goldsmiths before running her own jewellery workshop in St Ives for nearly 15 years. Emma began working with Emily in 2015, applying her technical expertise to the specialised finishing and setting that characterises Emily’s organic, sea-worn designs. She now works full time, setting, finishing and sizing Emily’s creations to beautiful and exacting standards.

Living on a remote organic farm in the far west of Cornwall, Emma’s regular haunt is Cot Valley, walking with her family and tibetan terrier. She loves cooking and a drive along ‘her favourite road’ from St Just to St Ives – taking in a quick stop at The Gurnards Head.

Chloe Wild

A freelance marketing professional, Chloe helps Emily with her communications. Specialising in the arts sector across Cornwall, Chloe began writing about Emily's work more than fifteen years ago. With a background in fine art, Chloe connected with Emily’s sculptural, sea-worn designs and has been a fan ever since. She uses her in-depth knowledge and longstanding passion for Emily's work to put together the words and images you see on and off-line about Emily’s jewellery.

Typical time off includes beach picnics with her young family, running on the dunes and time in the veggie garden. Her gorgeous sprocker spaniel is a regular at the studio and clients have been known to try to smuggle her out the door!
