Introducing Ocean Stone
For over twenty years, the ocean has been a constant theme in Emily’s inspiration and design process. The story of the tideline reflected through texture, form and especially in this latest Ocean Stone collection, colour.
The ocean hues of the Cornish coast - from tranquil azures and rich ceruleans to vivid teals and turquoises - have inspired a collection of cold water sapphires which mimic the delicate balance beneath the surface. From the Ocean Stone Adakite Ring and the Ocean Stone Ebb and Flow Ring to the Platinum Sapphire Cluster Stud Earrings, the pieces from this latest collection glitter with icy ocean hues and shimmer with the light of cool, clear pools.
The cold cornish waters have had an influence on more than Emily’s latest designs however. A daily immersion in cold ocean water has become an immense part of Emily’s lifestyle and her open water swims have become the moments when she feels most creative, when her mind quiets down and when she feels a quiet sense of calm and ease.
Emily’s been spending even more time than usual in cold water over the past few months. After spending a morning swimming with Jenny Smith, endurance athlete and open water swimmer, back in February, Emily decided to undertake a new challenge. On 28 May she’ll be taking part in the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) Castle to Castle swim - an iconic one mile open water swim across the Carrick Roads, between Falmouth and St Mawes Castle. Emily is also fundraising for the RNLI, raising money to support volunteer lifeboat crews and lifeguards. You can donate to her Just Giving page here.
This swim, just like her latest collection, is fuelled by her deep fascination for and love of the cold open waters.
