Samphire

The 'Crest' Samphire is formed from 18ct yellow gold and is set with natural diamonds in our West Cornwall studio.

+ Set with a total of ~0.56ct natural diamonds from southern Africa, likely formed over 1 billion years ago.
+ Solid, recycled 18ct yellow gold.
+ Made in West Cornwall.
Artist's Note
Samphire grows where little else will — salt marshes, sea cliffs, shingle — where it's jointed stems swell with brine. Emily has reflected on these branching segmented forms, and their metaphor for resilience, and complemented them diamonds. The natural, brilliant-cut diamonds in the 'Crest' Samphire are sourced from South Africa, where they are both mined and cut, just outside of Cape Town. They are always at least VS2 clarity and whiter than a colour I, combining together into bright flashes of light that complement the folds of yellow gold.
Our Diamonds
The diamonds in this piece naturally formed approximately 1—3.5 billion years ago in the Earth's mantle. They rose to the surface over millions of years to be sourced from South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia, in compliance with the Kimberley Certification Process. All of our stones are responsibly sourced with strict human rights and environmental due diligence on trusted, reputable suppliers. They are set by hand in West Cornwall.
