Solis VIII

Solis VIII is formed of 18ct yellow gold, and is set with a 1.14ct Australian Rose Cut sapphire placed above a 0.405ct champagne diamond.

+ Edition of one, never repeated
+ Made in West Cornwall
+ Solid, recycled 18ct yellow gold, with an Australian sapphire and a southern African diamond
Artist's Note
Solis VIII is part of Solis, a limited collection of one-of-a-kind pieces experimenting with form and light. The setting holds a natural diamond, viewed through a coloured sapphire acting as a ‘lens’, refracting the light from the diamond below with kaleidoscopic effect. Emily developed the idea while observing sunlight from below the surface of seawater, and the collection emerged as an exploration of light’s interaction with physical, transparent bodies.
Our Sapphires
The sapphires in this piece naturally formed approximately 150—300 million years ago. Each stone has a unique and unrepeatable colour palette, caused by trace elements surrounding the sapphire crystal as it was formed. As a result, each individual piece is unique, with subtle colour variation in the stones. All of our stones are responsibly sourced with strict human rights and environmental due diligence on trusted, reputable suppliers. They are set by hand in West Cornwall.
Our Diamonds
The diamonds in this piece naturally formed approximately 1—3.5 billion years ago in the Earth's mantle. They rose to the surface over millions of years to be sourced from South Africa, Botswana, and Namibia, in compliance with the Kimberley Certification Process. All of our stones are responsibly sourced with strict human rights and environmental due diligence on trusted, reputable suppliers. They are set by hand in West Cornwall.
